Focus and scope

Pasajes de pensamiento contemporáneo is a multidisciplinary journal from the Universitat de València that has been published biannually since 2022. Founded in 1999, it maintained a quarterly frequency until 2021.

Its main objective is to identify especially significant topics and issues in the fields of philosophy, social sciences, arts, humanities, and natural sciences, creating communication channels with authors and discussions of international relevance. It operates in an intermediate or confluence space between facts and ideas, welcoming contributions of diverse theoretical natures, always based on their cultural interest and informative and innovative value. It is not aimed at specialist readers, but rather at a general audience interested in broadening their scope of concerns and reference points. The journal has an editorial board and a scientific committee, whose members are listed in the corresponding sections.

Both committees are made up of researchers from the Universitat de València and other Spanish and international institutions. In the scientific committee, 75% are researchers from institutions other than the Universitat de València, and at least 50% belong to foreign institutions.

Pasajes has a panel of reviewers that ensures an anonymous peer review process.

Most of the scientific articles in each issue are written by researchers external to the University of Valencia, the journal's host institution."

The publication includes a section of scientific articles, one for interviews, and another for reviews. The scientific articles section consists of a monographic block and a miscellaneous section. For the monographic block, each issue addresses a current topic focused on aspects of contemporary cultural, historical, social, or political debate.

Until 2024, the journal was published in print. Starting in 2025, Pasajes de pensamiento contemporáneo will be published on the OJS platform, while continuing to offer a print version for subscribers. The journal will maintain its commitment to a biannual publication frequency.

Articles must be submitted in Spanish. However, if they are written in other languages, they may be translated into Spanish at the discretion of the editorial board, if deemed of special interest.

All articles are assigned a unique DOI, starting with the DOI prefix: https://doi.org/XXXXXX
